Tomorrow afternoon we close on the house and by Saturday night we will be moved in completely and ready to unpack and relax in our home again. Mom and Dad have been more than amazing to us and we will miss them but we know they are still close by!
The cleaning crew was at the house today and I am glad about that, I would hate to have had to clean the mess up myself! There are still things pending that we are not sure will be resolved by closing time, but we are forging ahead anyway. There is some trim on the front of the house that needs paint; the fireplace needs the correct face plate installed and the touch up work redone; the trim kit for the microwave needs to picked up tomorrow and installed; the shower stall wall needs to be installed; the interior blinds on the patio door need to be installed; the bathroom window needs to have the glass exchanged for privacy glass; and the closets need to be finished.
The hardwood floors had their finish coat done tonight we can't wait to see how they turned out!
This is a sneak of the nearly finished and already cleaned kitchen ...

Sod Placed Outside and Painting Complete Inside
Yesterday the sod was laid in the yard and we gained a few more bushes in the rock along the house as well as a maple tree in the front yard. It is suppose to snow today, so clearing of the rest of the backyard is on hold until they are able to move around back there again. The grass is covered with frost which is just another sign of the impending snow in the forecast up here. We had a special treat driving the girls to school today as we were following a hot air balloon. You can see is off the side behind the house in this picture:
In this shot you can see our new little maple tree off to the side near the dumpster that is still in place:
Work is on hold for a few days to the unfinished part of the yard near the road. The rest of it will be cleared and mulch placed until next spring/summer when we will do some more work down there.
These three pictures are taken from the living room window down to show the yard work so far. The areas of black dirt off to each side are where the birch trees will be planted in the spring. The wide open area along the road will also receive two birch trees there as well and some ground plantings next year.
Paint finishing was also done on the inside of the house yesterday and our bedroom wall was finally painted. Everything looks great from a paint perspective at this point.

TV's
It is the weekend and not much happening at the house today, but Peter did meet with Bruce, the AV guy, today and the TVs have been installed in the living room, master bedroom and the office. We will be bringing the big screen with us on moving day as that is not being mounted on a wall. I only took pictures in the office and living room of the TVs.
Closing day is Thursday and there is a lot of little things that need to be done yet such as paint touch ups and actually painting the master bedroom wall. Obviously from the pictures above, the fireplace wall needs to be completed. The stove vent hood needs to installed and the landscaping needs to be finished yet. The blinds need to be placed in the patio doors on the main level and the glass wall installed in the master bathroom. Our internet and TV services will be hooked up Tuesday. There also needs to be two more finish coats on the wood floor yet. Aside from all that, the entire house needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. Seems like a lot to get done in three days ... we shall see ...

Lots of Outside Progress
The stone work on the front of the house was completed yesterday and there are just a few more finishing touches that need to be done above the stone on the columns before we can say the outside is finished, but that said, it is finally looking a like the drawing on the header of this blog!
The landscaping has begun as well and as of yesterday we had a few plants that had been placed.
We had to stop by the house tonight and drop off two of our TV's which the AV guy will be installing for us tomorrow or Monday on the wall mounts. Figured it was better for him to mess it up than for us to on our own! Today landscaping rock was placed, some mulch and some decorative stones. It is dusk in these pictures so it is hard to see everything.
The other big development today was that not only was the port-a-potty taken away from our front yard, but the sprinkler system was also installed ... I will refer to this picture was Peter's Wall #2.
Lastly, for this update, is a shot of both sides of the patio in the backyard ... decorative rock has been place for the future deck and edging around the house. I believe the sod is set to arrive on Monday. We are waiting on the placement of six trees in the backyard until spring and then the landscaper will be back to place them for us.
